bio
Chris Damon brings energy, relatability, and a deep appreciation for the game to the Learn To Play Hockey (LTPH) program. While his early athletic background was rooted in competitive baseball—where he later coached at a high level—his passion for hockey grew in recent years and has quickly become a central part of his life.
Chris began skating during the COVID-19 shutdowns and quickly immersed himself in the sport, progressing from open skates to full hockey gear and joining a men’s league. His enthusiasm for learning the game firsthand gives him a unique perspective that resonates especially well with beginner players and families new to hockey.
For the past several years, Chris has been an active member of the Cincinnati Cyclones Ice Crew and has coached in Special Hockey, sled hockey, Learn To Skate (LTS), and Learn To Play Hockey (LTPH) programs. He is currently working toward his USA Hockey coaching certifications. In addition, his experience working at Perani’s Hockey World has given him valuable hands-on expertise in fitting equipment, skate sharpening, and helping players feel confident and comfortable on the ice.
Chris is passionate about creating an encouraging, inclusive, and fun learning environment. He understands what it feels like to be new to the sport and uses that perspective to connect with players, helping them build confidence one step at a time. His goal is simple: make hockey approachable, enjoyable, and something every child can feel proud to try.
